Zoe's Welsh Harp Music Workshop will provide opportunities for harpists to explore the Welsh harp repertoire suited for lever harps for solo and ensemble formats.   Harpists will meet Zoe's Welsh triple harp and have a chance to play it.  Harpists will learn about the history of these harps, the composers, arrangers, harp makers, as well as some of the concepts in phrasing and artistic nuance that can be applied to the lever harp.  Additionally, a moment will be spent introducing harpists in how to tune a harp without a tuner.   There will be time for solo work, ensemble, and Q&A.   Bring your own lunch!  Coffee and decaf coffee will be provided.

Zoe Vandermeer has given harp workshops for the American Harp Society, Elyrica, Historical Harp Society, and the Somerset Harp Festival.  She has given performances with her Welsh triple harp for the Bloomington Early Music Festival, Connecticut Early Music Festival, Rio International Harp Festival Brasil, American Harp Society, American Swedish Historical Museum, American Museum of Art CT, and elsewhere.  She was a Quarter Finalist in the 2024 World Harp Competition featuring her own compositions.   Zoe Vandermeer's John Dowland soprano and triple harp album received favorable reviews, including the UK Lute Society Journal.  Her CD 'Zoe's Musical Fairy Tale' featuring her voice, harp, storytelling, composition, multiple instruments, and production, won the Silver Medal in 2022 by Global Music Awards.   Ms. Vandermeer looks forward to the release of her upcoming soprano and Welsh harp baroque CD.
